2009 T31 Diesel Xtrail Airbag light on

Just looking for some help regarding SRS airbag light issue.

Suddenly came on about a week ago with no known cause.
Checked under the seats and removed kids toys that had been lodged and made sure wiring all secure (seems ok but not sure how to tell exactly).

Tried the reset procedure with the ignition on off sequence and it only lasts maybe 30 seconds and comes back on. Have done this about 5-10 times on to see if it was just a transient issue.

From what I've read it could be a clock spring issue, but I don't have issues with horn or cruise control.

Has any one else dealt with this? I don't have a Nissan dealer nearby.

Cheers

Can you count the flashes when it happens. Usually there is a diagnostic which changes the number of flashes to indicate the specific problem.

Re: 2009 T31 Diesel Xtrail Airbag light on

It just flashes continuously in normal operation. When I put it in diagnostic mode by doing to ignition on off three times with three second intervals it just seems to flash slowly but continuously (about 2 seconds on 2 seconds off).
I just did the reset procedure as above and the light stayed off until I drove off and turned the wheel. Not sure if it’s a coincidence with regard to turning steering wheel and it turning back on.

I've ordered a Autel MaxiAP200 reader to check the codes and a new clock spring (b5567-jh00A) to install. Will update progress.
