T30 2.5 '06 Auto transmission problem

Good day all

I have been having a problem on my autobox
After driving for about 60-80km on the highway, the box will start to downshift from 4 to 3 the moment
I touch the accelerator pedal and will only shift back to 4th,with a hard shift, once I take my foot completely of the pedal.
Shifting from 2nd to 3rd even in town driving also produces a noticable thump.
The torque converter has been reconditioned, aswell as a overall kit installed and new oil and filter.

This was the original.problem on the box altough when the workshop opened it they found dirt and grime inside due to wear on the friction plates and a carrier gear that was worn.

Can this be caused by the valve body?

Thank you in advamce

When was the transmission reconditioned ?
If this was the original problem then it seems they have not found the complete fix for it and their warranty should cover any labour to redo the transmission, though you will more than likely have to cover cost of parts.
Yes it could be the valve body as it controls all shifting and it sounds like it could have some gunk in it. They should also check the shift solenoids A and B to make sure they are clear.

The shop should be happy to investigate and fix for free. If their warranty doesn't extend to the period elapsed since they did it, you can still ask them to consider that.

Although it is likely that a small amount of material was left somewhere in it, and its found its way back to the same orifice, it is more likely they didn't find the original fault, and fixed the normal wear items that weren't part of the issue.

Or its a faulty electronic problem, such as the kick down solenoid or an input to the trans computer that makes it think something us happening that isn't.
