You might be able to just remove the internal handle surround to get to the workings after looking at the driver's door to see where things are. I'm wondering how deep the dent is in the door ? If it is as close as you say, there might be some distortion in the alignment of the door latch with the catch on the B-pillar which might make things a little more difficult to open due to interference.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Thu, 26 Aug 2021 11:24:49 +0000 X-Trail ST 2011 2wd Front Left Door internal Anatomyhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2098774,from=rss#post2098774https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2098774,from=rss#post2098774Hello Guys. I'm after some advice please. My Mother has a 2011 X-Trail ST 2wd and managed to damage the front left door (Passenger side). I'm looking to rectify it as much as possible (Mum has fallen on hard times, and I'm not much better off myself at the moment). The first issue is the door wont open. The damage is only minor, but its probably popped a rod clip off or something and the door wont open from either inside or outside. The handles dont bind at all, they just dont seem to do anything. If I could get it open I could remove the inner door panel and see what's happened, repair the damage and reattached the rods/replace the clips. But first I need to get the door open. Does anyone know the internal layout of the doors on these? The Central pillar is untouched (as far as I can tell), so its only the door skin that's damaged. Its pushed in almost an inch (about >20mm) just before the central door pillar. It was a low speed crash with a concrete letterbox. Mum was pulling out the drive at a friends place. OK. I cant believe I didn't think of this until now. I'll take off the drivers (RHS) door panel and take a gander. Things should be about the same as the passenger door but imaged. OK, Yeah. I'm clearly stoopid for not thinking of this before now. All the same, any suggestions? I know nothing about the X-Trail, or Nissan in General for that matter. Once we are out of this financial crunch, we will be replacing the door skin and moving everything across. Mum let the insurance run out due to finances and that's why I need to fix this rather than simply get the insurance to deal with it. Thanks in Advance. nondisclosed_email@example.com (PhilipMiddleton)Thu, 26 Aug 2021 00:41:01 +0000
