T31 40mm Lift using spacers

Hi.

About to lift my T31 BY 40MM using strut spacers - its for looks rather than any serious off roading .
Looking at 16x7 ET30 Modular steel wheels

Does anyone know if the lift will allow me to put on 225 - 75 - 16 BF Goodrich or Coopers on the steelies ?

No strut spacers for the T31 due to the rear suspension setup but you can look into spring lift and airbag assist in HERE.

As what Kev said, I've seen youtube videos of people doing it and then, shortly after posting a video of regret.

For your reference, if you end up going lifted King Springs and playing around with tyres... I went from stock suspension and 215/65 R16 tyres to lifted King Springs with 215/70 R16 geolander. The lifted springs and tyre combo gave me a good 30mm and zero issues with tyre rubbing when driving. The spare tyre fits in the wheel well to. That said, not sure if the springs are still settling at this stage, so expect this to drop a bit?

See this thread for more tyre options.

Re: T31 40mm Lift using spacers

Hi all
I put 35mm spacers on top of my suspension struts and only went to 35 as if you go much more it effects your drive shafts and CV wear as the increased height effects angle the CV has to work within, plus the rears have the struts and springs separate and it was a small enough increase not to have to change them and legal limits as I didnt want to go through the certification BS.

I ended up spending a lot of time and money replacing CV boots so took it to a CV specialist and got the best advise and a solution.

The CV boots wave high and low points in the shape of a "W" these get compressed and rub once you do your lift and drive. Find a CV boot with a "V" shape and not a "W" shape (less highs and lows across the boot) so they don't rub as much on both the inner and outer CV's.

I wanted to increase wheel size too but the bottom edge of the sprig holder prevented anything larger than a 235/65/17 on my T31 diesel as it is the same height at the hub

Since then no more issues

So Andy, did you only put the spacers on the front being struts ?
Did you do anything to the rears ?

Hey Andy
Could you give us an update on what you did in the rear?

Thanks
