Air condition problems

Near the end of last summer my X-Trail (2014, ST-L) started to have air condition problems which is hard to pin down. It works fine for about half an hour then something shuts down. The fan is blowing but only a small amount of air comes through (like it is blocked) I think the air is working but not coming through and I have a sneaky suspension that it may have something to do with the climate control?
Any ideas (I will have to get it fixed up before summer-those little suckers really heat up in the sun)

Cheers,
Matchless

Re: Air condition problems

The climate control automatically changes fan speed based on temp difference between set and cabin.
Does the same happen if you put the fan speed to a manual high setting ?

Re: Air condition problems

I'm not sure about the T31 but the T30 has a sun sensor in the top of the dash and a temp sensor inside the dash infront of the steering wheel where a small vent can be seen. Sometimes dust accumulates on the sensors and impedes their readings so a little clean once in a while helps.

Hopefully someone a T31 owner with climate control will help you locate if these sensors are also in yours.

Re: Air condition problems

Kev,
Sorry took so long to get back to you. I can see the sensor on top of the dash (little disc incorporated within the speaker), but I cant find any other vent within the dash around the steering wheel.
Cheers,
Matchless

Re: Air condition problems

Just checked my T31, and as well as the sensor on top of the dash, there's a grill like cutout under the dash, just in front of your left knee. As Kev suggested, check the opening isn't covered with dust.
