Rear Swaybar placement

Hi!

T31 - Request for pictures of rear swaybar emoticon
Anyone able to take some pictures of their T31? on how the rear swaybar is connected to the chassie? and maybe with together with the endlinks?

I decided to refurbish the rear swaybar on my T31 and change out the bushings together with new endlinks.

After the reassembly the swaybars started to make noises in turns etc.

I then found a repair manual and tried to turn the swaybar 180 degrees to how it's supposed to be according to how i read the manual, but i'm unable to make it fit.

It can't be that difficult to get the solution but i just can't see it! emoticon
Much appreciated emoticon

None at all sadly, just the T32.
Would be easy if I could find one parked, but sadly not that many around.

I have a petrol and could give it a go... not sure if they share the same type of swaybar links etc given the weight differences.

Thanks for helping out Nick.
Maybe you could find a local diesel T31 in a used car yard to compare to your petrol version.

Re: Rear Swaybar placement

I've taken some photos of my T31 and directly messaged them to thenorwegian. If he or she says that helps solve the problem I reckon that will be enough. With Sydney finally in a real lockdown might be a few more weeks till I'm anywhere near a car dealership again emoticon

Had a look at the service manual page RSU-17 and it looks like the rear stabilizer and links are identical on all 4WD models, but the RM20DE, QR25DE and M9R engines seem to have slightly different exhaust systems (makes sense) so that's the only potential variation... but looking from the the exploded view diagrams for all exhaust to engine types, it's all a pretty similar setup towards the rear of the vehicle once past the main muffler. Which is where the links are.

Hey thenorwegian did you need to fiddle with the muffler to do the removal? If not, I reckon you are good to go with what I sent you.

Thanks Nickelass for taking the time of taking pictures and mailing them to me.
The picture is just what I needed 😊

To your question about the muffler.
At removal of the swaybar i just bypassed the muffler by lifting the swaybar over after the separation of the endlink.
