Added reversing camera and sensors to T31 with a Sony XAV-AX1000 installed
After replacing the headunit in my bone stock T31 (see here) I've recently added a reversing camera and parking sensors.
Camera
Ended up going with the "Dome" style camera (see part number 91CMDC510 at https://www.commandauto.com.au/command-parking-systems/) as it fitted perfectly in the spot the OEM camera would likely go (there is a blanking panel on the upper left side above the number plate). Because of that placement it looks a bit off centre on the screen but have it pointed towards the tow hook and the guiding lines work perfectly to compensate for slightly 'off' angle.
Parking sensors
The base ST model has black moulded plastic bumpers, so went with Command Parking Systems again (91CMD05-4BS [Black] is the exact part number). A bit of a hassle to install due to the tow bar brace running behind the plastic bumper... but it all fitted up nicely. Once again looks factory.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely. Parking has become so much easier in the narrow street I live on. Some might say the sensors are overkill with a camera. But I found it helpful for the periphery as you angle into spots.
