posticon Forced Regen in Limp Mode?

Hi,
My Xtrail has gone in limp mode due to DPF issues.
Does anyone know if a forced regen is still possible after this?

I will attempt to chemicaly clean the DPF while on the car. But this requires a regen afterwards.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Forced Regen in Limp Mode?

As far as we know here in AUS it will need to be taken to a dealer to do the forced regen.

Re: Forced Regen in Limp Mode?

i have an autel maxi 200 dongle with the mobile app. You can trigger a regen and reset the dpf with it. I do it all the time.

My exy has an aftermarket DPF that for some reason does not burn down to 0 so it occasionally goes a bit crazy for failed regens and the DPF and MIL lights come on. As i know the soot mass level from the PID i just tell it it has a new DPF then drive the car for a bit on the motorway. As the car can still calculate the soot mass from the dpf pressure sensor it triggers a burn off and the soot mass comes back down and everything is fine for 6-8 months.

I did try doing forced regens to get the soot mass down but it always failed at 40mins due to the after market dpf so i don't bother anymore. There is something very strange with the way the nissan dpf engine management works.

i have been going like this for about 3 years without issue.

Thanks for the info guys! Interesting that a small dongle can trigger a forced regen emoticon
