Any fitting instructions should be placed as a new post in the DIY section (unless there is already one made) please so that other members can easily find itnondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Fri, 24 Jul 2020 12:37:45 +0000 Cargo barrier for T32 X-Trailhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097672,from=rss#post2097672https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097672,from=rss#post2097672  Looking to have a cargo barrier fitted to your T32? Then perhaps consider this option to save money. We finally replaced our January 2020 hail storm damaged (write-off) 2012 T31 X-Trail ST with a ‘new’ 2016 T32 X-Trail ST. Before the car was taken away by the insurance company, I took off the OEM cargo barrier, ECB nudge bar and OEM tow bar. Unfortunately, none of these would fit the T32, but I was able to sell them on Gumtree. I was not the only person looking to move on a cargo barrier in this way. I was able to buy a second-hand OEM (Nissan) cargo barrier (Part No. J3100-4CFOAUU) to fit the T32 for $50 on Gumtree. There are still plenty of these around on Gumtree and eBay. Lots of second hand accessories (like nudge bars and cargo barriers) are virtually useless because you can’t buy the fitting kits to install them separately. The good news is that Nissan Australia have the OEM (Nissan) cargo barrier fitting kit as a spare part (Part No. J31094CFOAAU) for around $80. So, for less than $150 you can get a factory cargo barrier (and fitting kit) that would otherwise cost you around $650 new (excluding fitting) on eBay - and much more from a dealer. That’s a saving of at least $500. You can fit the cargo barrier yourself if you have the basic skills and tools (this is relatively straightforward - I will post the fitting instructions). Even if you pay an aftermarket accessory place to fit it for you (about 2 hours of labour - $250 or so) you’ll still be way in front money wise. And that’s a good thing!
