New Forum Admin

Hi Guys,

As you may have noticed already, I haven't been active on the forum for quite some time and while I am still approving new members to join our forum, I haven't been logging in to interact with you.

I am going through tough times at the moment and this has been the case for the last 2+ years, suffice to say that my priorities have completely changed to the recent change in my life-style, coupled with the latest COVID saga, I am in no position to contribute to this forum, as I would have liked.

To this end and due to the awesome effort of Revhead Kev in managing this forum in my absence and answering as many questions as he can, I have decided to give Kev FULL ADMIN access to this forum. Please provide him with your support, like you have supported me since 2004!

I am still an EXY owner (well, my wife is driving it now), and I will continue to be part pf the forum for foreseeable future but for the time being, I am taking a bit of time-out.

Thank you all

Re: New Forum Admin

Hi Jalal.
Hopefully all will go well for you in the future. Your setting up of and administration of the forum for many many years has been a tremendous effort and I admire your dedication to ensuring that the forum was kept true to the objectives of same and that you did not tolerate any abuse of the forum rules. Many forums start off with someone simply asking a question in relation to an issue that he hopes to resolve only to find that responses often go well off the topic. You were always quick to block irrelevant or abusive posts and that's certainly what a great administrator does.
I am also grateful that I was able to know you outside the forum in the workforce. I remember a couple of lunchtime walks in the City.
It is also great that a very knowledgeable member of the forum (Revhead Kev) has agreed to take over the administration of the forum. I have had a couple of PMs with him on this matter.

Jalal, it is indeed been a pleasure to know you and I certainly hope your Wife looks after her current exy as you looked after your original "black beast". Your T30 was a site to see and looked a heap lot better than my brand new T31 when I visited you at home to pick up bash plates some 8 - 9 years ago. I also fondly remember the forum outing down the coast some years back as well as the original "NSW v QLD" state challenge in the Coffs Harbour area. Take care Jalal and I hope to "hear" from you in the forum again sometime in the not too distant future.

regards

Re: New Forum Admin

Thanks Jalal for this honour and thanks Dave for your words of encouragement.

It will take me some time to go through all the threads, finding locked threads to unlock and posts to move into correct threads or duplicates to delete so that all similar information is in a single place of reference just as you did in previous years. Rest assured that no content will be removed unless an absolute duplication like I have seen where someone posts the same question in multiple threads hoping to get an answer quicker. This was something not allowed to happen in the past and what makes our forum easier to use than others where people post whatever they want, wherever they want and information gets splintered making it harder to find.

Hopefully I'll do as good a job of administrating this forum as you did in the past and I welcome any feedback you may have when you pop in from time to time checking in on my progress emoticon

Re: New Forum Admin

Thank you Dave and Kev for your kind words and believe me when I say that the best memories I have are those being around the forum and its lovely members many of whom became more than family to me!

The outings we had, the adventures we’ve been through and the light 💡 bulb moments we all shared when it came to our beloved Exy, is not something I will ever forget.

I have NEVER been so excited about owning a car like I did when I became an Exy owner.

Dear Kev, in fact it is MY honor that you accepted this role and I have no doubt that you’ll do everything possible to keep this forum ticking and alive while I sort myself and my things out and I also have no doubt that all Exy members will give the exact same respect they have given me to assist you in this mission.

I will continue to renew the hosting arrangements for the forum indefinitely and you don’t have to worry about that.

Please stay safe everyone

Hi Jalal,
Long time and no chat.
While Wendy and myself have also not been very active for sometime and know the effort and commitment you have done for this forum and also the online shop(where I was allowed to purchase some great goodies).
I was only just thinking of the forum the other day and was wondering who still around.
Kev I know you will do a fantastic Job and keep this forum on track.
Thank you both for such wonderful memories over the years as most of them would not have happened but if it was not for this forum.

Thanks Scott and Leo 👍

I’m still around just not as much as I used to lol 😂

And yes Scott, some very memorable times indeed and I’m proud that we managed to get Nissan Australia involved because they just couldn’t resist our passion for the Exy
