Oodnadatta track to Coober Pedy

Hi, I'm travelling from Adelaide to Marree which is a sealed road all the way. I would like to travel to Coober Pedy via Oodnadatta track if road is sealed about the middle of May 2020.
I have looked on google earth, but some images are going back years.
I know I'm a whimp for wanting sealed road.
can anyone tell me anything about conditions.
Thanks, Allan

Hi Allan,

Go to https://www.dpti.sa.gov.au/OutbackRoads to see the condition of all roads in the area.

You can also get information from the Lake Eyre Yacht club webpage and The Pink Roadhouse webpage or give them a phone call.

Re: Oodnadatta track to Coober Pedy

From Oodnadatta itself to Coober Pedy the road is unsealed but in excellent condition, or at least was when we drove this in the other direction. Gravel in good shape, one of the best unsurfaced roads we experienced in 45,000 Km around Australia last year.

I'm brand new to this site and I'm not even sure I will find this message again. Im also new to owning and extrail But I wondered if you went on Oodnadatta Track as you planned
I went from Murray Bridge to Alice in sept2020 via the stuart highway and was supposed to come back via William Creek but I chickened out because I realised how un prepared i was. In my defence it was my 1st solo outback trip and I'm female and for various reasons no longer strong enough to change a flat. But I did have a 20day outback adventure.
