Over the past years I have not yet found LED replacement globes for the brake/tail light which are bright enough so anything you find, please post details with picsnondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Fri, 11 Oct 2019 08:41:24 +0000 Re: T30 Brake Lights Modhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097041,from=rss#post2097041https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2097041,from=rss#post2097041Do you know which bulb the t30 2006 uses fro the brake and rear (tail) lights. It's not the standard one, which has a cylindrical base with 2 offset pins to ensure correct connections to the 2 filaments. Instead the bulb base has low-angle wedge shape that slides into the socket rather than twist. I'm facing great difficulty finding the part number. Can you or anyone help? I'd be very grateful. I'm thinking of upgrading to LEDs. This will help keep all relevent information on the same topic together and make it easier for everyone to find later. Do not worry if it is an old thread, you will just be adding new, updated content to it. Also, you cannot link google user account pics into the forum as they do now show in the thread. Please use a photo hosting site as suggested in the user guides such as Flickr. I am sure the admin will be along soon to move this post but it would be appreciated if you could copy it yourself beforehand.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Mon, 06 Nov 2017 21:10:17 +0000 T30 Brake Lights Modhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2094877,from=rss#post2094877https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2094877,from=rss#post2094877Thought Id have a go at filling that empty void where there should be a globe but isnt on the top of the T30 tail lights. 1. Remove Brake light 2. Get donor loom or some T20 sockets that have the 3 wires on them 3. Cut brake lights from car and donor loom 4. Strip cover from ends of wire. 5. Including the body loom 6. Twist wires. Black to black. Red to Red. Pink to Pink. 7. Pre-solder to help keep together 8 Don't forget heat shrink tubing. 9. Twist wires into the body loom. 10. Solder and put shrink tubing in place. 11. Check continuity over the connection. 12. Time to test your lights. 13. Headlights 14. Brakes 15. Tidy up wires. 16. Find the useless octagonal hole at the top of your light. 17. Cut hole out with a rotary tool. You will also have to pull the part you cut out back through the hole. I used long nose pliers and the dremel to cut bits off and pull it through. 18. I used a dremel with a diamond coated blade, cut through the plastic like it was butter. 19. Make sure you get all of the plastic out of the insider of the light. I used a vacuum and shook the light around til it was all rattle free. Test fit the globe. 20. I tacked in the globe with some hot glue to start with, then when that had hardened i went back and flooded it with hot glue to keep the water out. Youll have to do this anytime you want to change the globe but the hot glue comes off easy enough and is a cheap weatherproof item. 21. Headlights on. 22. Brake lights on. You can probably do this easier, safer, tidier and what not, but this is how I done it. The only thing I would do differently is put a 3 pin connector between the donor loom light and the car brake loom so it's easier to put the lights back on the car and taking them off. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brettles)Mon, 06 Nov 2017 13:06:41 +0000
