posticon Automatic function for DRL/Headlights ??

Hello

I have a Nissan X-TRAIL T31 2008 Diesel with light censor and wonder if anyone can help me with a driving light solution...

In modes "Off" and "Auto" is always head light (low) switched on when the engine is started. I would like to change this so when the switch is in the "OFF" position, all light is off.

When the switch is in "Auto" mode and during daylight , only the front fog lamps will be lit, and when the light sensor detects dusk or darkness the head light (low) should light and fog lights will be switched off. I will use the fog lights as DRL.....

I guess how the lighting will work may depend on the country in which the car is used.

Is it possible to change this using the Consult III diagnostic and maintenance tool, or have any of you resolved it in any other way with some relays.

Regards
Uffe in Sweden

Re: Automatic function for DRL/Headlights ??

It won't be done by a Consult function and will need a big rewiring of your relay box in the engine bay as all those lights are controlled by different relays for Front Fog, Headlights and DRL.

My best suggestion is to get a copy of the Electronic Service Manual and look at the wiring of all these lights to see if you can do it yourself or if it is legal in your country to get an auto electrician to modify it for you.

Sorry for reviving an old post but this can be done with ConsultIII function. In my country nissan sold t31 without this option enabled, only in nordic countries came on by default. I've changed myself that option in BCM section - drl on/off.
