Re: t32 aftermarket gps headunit install
I was wondering what they did about a GPS antenna. Good to know you have to install an external one.
And I was also wondering how so many different head units could interface to the steering wheel 'remote' controls and reversing / steering sensor...Doh, CANBUS!
Can anyone tell me with this unit,
1) Is it possible to load GPS 'tracks' to overlay on the map?
2) Are other maps like OzTopo able to be loaded?
3) does it have a 'breadcrumb' trail that can be saved to a log/track file?
I was looking at the Kenwood, but it can't do tracks.
bit more research and found my own answers, for anyone else....
The unit uses OziExplorer Android software, in addition to the "Road Navigation" software (Which I assume is iGo?, being Android.)
"User tracks can be loaded"
"Logging of 'Track points' to file."
So it can do tracks and breadcrumb trails to a file, but not sure it can display and actual 'breadcrumb trail' on the screen that you can see where you've been. (Helpful for back-tracking' to your campsite.) Thinking that's it's just Android OziExplorer loaded, probably can. Hmm, more research...
