Re: Nissan Extended Warranty
As a rule of thumb, extended warranties do not improve the standard warranty under Australian law as the exceptions signed for in the extended warranties are greater than the rights with which you may have started.
Some companies are better than others but the baseliners are known for NEVER paying.
Also the warranty is onsold. As I understand it, some extended warranty may not be part of Nissan, someone else bought the possible liability at a substantial discount and they exist to make a profit.
I'd say a few words about the Corporations which advocate those warranties but I'm not inclined to face their joyfully litigious process launched against anyone who criticises them.
Saying that, let me say this, my Dealer gave a Dealer warranty at no cost when I bought the car.
Never had to use it, so no loss to them.
There also was an offer of a further (external) warranty for a price, which I gracefully declined. along with their insurance, upholstery proofing, stick-on Nudge Bar, towbar, in house tinting, finance and exterior paint protection.
I must have driven the salesman nuts.
Search "Extended Warranties Australia" and make up your own mind.
