2011 xtrail battery changeing

Hi all
I need some advice for my 2011 t31 st xtrail if you can help, I need to replace the battery which is a easy job. I have been told that you must save the settings data with a memory saver or else you will lose it, is this true or excuse to get you back to the dealer.
Also does this affect the radio etc. if you disconnect the battery.
Any advice would be appreciated as I don't want to get caught out by doing the wrong thing.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi Graeme,

Not sure what data settings you mean, but for the radio yes, you will loose all the pre-set station when you disconnect the battery. The way around this is to use a battery pack and connect it to the leads while you swap the battery out. That way you won't loose anything.

I did it the lazy way and had to pre-set all radio channels again. No other data was lost.

Hi. I'm not sure if its the same on all Xtrails, but I had to reset my drivers window switch. You can find how to do it in the Audio, Visual and Electrical section. Its very easy.

Re: 2011 xtrail battery changeing

When I needed to replace my battery I went to the local Batteries Direct outlet. Not only did I get a great a deal on the battery, the outlet owner also did the replacement work. Without my even mentioning concerns with radio codes or other possible resets he placed a device across the leads prior to disconnecting my old battery. It had little light indicators on it to ensure all OK before he disconnected the old battery and replaced it with a new one. He said to return in 3 months for a system check which I did and he again checked the battery etc and all was good.
I have since been to the outlet to have the battery on my wife's Mazda 323 Astina SP20 replaced and the same great service provided.

cheers
