T32 Wheel size conundrum!

Hi all, after numerous phone calls and many in store visits, it seems that the T32 is out in the cold when it comes to after-market wheels.

I've got the 225/65/17 Fuel Savers on now but wanted to find some 16s to fit some ATs to for off-road fun. Unless I want Sunraysias, nothing!

The other option I was given was keep the factory rims and get 17" ATs.

The spare is the other thing. Space saver steelie sounds great, but I'm a believer in full sized spares. How easy are factory wheels to source?

And don't get me started on the suspension lift (or lack of…!)

Tom

Nissan just quoted for 5 factory alloys… are you ready…? $5422 for 5!!

Looks like I'm heading down the black Sunraysias road! (after I pick my jaw up!)

I have 225/65/17 on my T31, so there's nothing new there. I'm running the factory alloys with Cooper CS5 tyres. I don't see why the T32 would be different to a T31 when it comes to finding 16 inch wheels though (unless the T32 has weird holes for the wheel studs to poke through....as long as you keep your rolling diameter about the same, then you should be fine.

Re: T32 Wheel size conundrum!

err....you forgot to mention the 'offset' of the wheel. You know, the distance from the hub to the inner and outer edges.
Every vehicle has a different offset, so buying a wheel which suits, say, a Murano, might not make it a perfect choice for an X-trail.

Re:

Sorry gang, offset is +40. I've found some +44 online for just shy of 1k for 4 online, and I have a mate hunting something down from a bricks and mortar store.

Re:

Ok, I got some misinformation about the offset. One website lists +40, but when the T32 was registered with the Aus Govt, Nissan listed as a +45 offset meaning a lot more wheel options and a lot less headaches!

So I replaced the standard 17s with a set of CSA shakers and got a set of Dunlop GrandTrek AT3s.

Increased road noise as you'd expect over the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max. No change to fuel economy short term, I'll see if there's a change from my overall average of 9.4l/100.
