The car dealer has been marvelous, if only others were this good!

This is unusually cheering to hear of such good outcomes.

It is refreshing to read good news about a decent Dealer who has looked after the client.

I see no reason for complaint and it would be useful to others if you mentioned the name of that Good Dealer. emoticon

Re:

I don't know if I'm allowed to bump a thread this old, but here goes.

I'm having a similar issue. Excessive oil consumption on my t30 x trail manual. When I first purchased the car it was puffing smoke, since then I have rebuilt the engine, replacing all valve stem seals, pistons, rings, seals, timing chain, bearings and gaskets. The only oil leak that I have is coming from the sump plug, whilst that is a pain in the behind there is no way that it is the reason for using so much oil. Even with the engine running at about 3000 it isn't enough to drip. I've estimated the usage of oil to be about 300ml/250km. I have inspected the PCV valve ensuring that is working and the rocker cover also, making sure that there is no visible cracks in the baffles. The smelly exhaust is also another reason I doubt the leak is the problem here.

At the moment I'm stumped and beginning to think it's too far gone.
I have done a compression test on each cylinder and they're all 125psi, much like before the rebuild which could be possible seeing as the pistons fitted were the same size as the ones removed.

This is my first car and my first time fixing an issue like this. Any help would be appreciated....

Bumping an old thread is fine and actually preferred so that all relevant information is kept in the same place and easy for anyone else to find.

But posting in a thread without an initial post in the introductions thread is not and soon an admin will be along to lock this thread from answers until you do. Please do it soon.
