Ownership Thoughts After 20,000 KM Well the T32 TL had its 20,000 km service today. Total cost $422, which I thought was pretty reasonable. The only issue they identified, above what is covered in the service, was the front wheels needed a slight wheel alignment and the hand brake needed adjustment.
The car had been running beautifully and the motor has really started to spin freely. It was an absolute pleasure to drive it to Brisbane and back, with it achieving 5.3 Lt / 100 Km on the return trip.
I am going bush next week with the wife, sister and brother-in-law and a couple of other 4WDs. Will be interesting to see how it handles the dirt. The brother-in-law guarantees I will be getting it dirty.
Re: Had my 30, 000 km service done on 11 Apr 16 and have since done another 4,000 kms (which included a trip to Brisbane and back from Canberra). I have not had a problem with the car at all, it has been absolutely fantastic. I do a lot of freeeway driving, so it get to stretch its legs quite often. I am still amazed how well the 1.6 LT Diesel motor performs.
16,000kms for my 1.6L diesel now. Same experience for me JL Muir.
The only drawback I've noticed is that 1st gear isn't quite low enough when hill starting with a trailer. I've just come back from camping with around 600(?)kg trailer weight + wife + 3 kids. No issues, except riding the clutch a lot on hill starts!!!
Fuel economy (with extra trailer/weight) was around 6.5-6.9L per 100kms. Normal fuel economy for me is closer to 5.2-5.5L.
EDIT: I have had a few issues with the key fob. My model has the 'push button' start & little fancy button on the door handles. It's a great feature, but occasionally the car doesn't recognise the key fob.
Nissan have already had to reset my computer once. Usually, just opening & closing the door will suddenly help the situation. Weird.

--- 2014 X-Trail. Diesel, 4WD, Manual. Mods include tow bar & roof racks. That it all.
I haven't noticed the issue with hill starting with a trailer. I have towed a 750 kg trailer a few times and found it to be excellent for towing. It is interesting that the manual gearbox for the petrol models, have the same ratio for 1st gear (3.727), but the remaining ratios are different. I would hate to be doing a hill start with a 2.0 Lt petrol model or the 2.5 Lt as they only put out 200 nm and 226 nm of torque respectively.
My car occasionally doesn't recognize the fob, but it hasn't done it enough to annoy me.
Your fuel economy is pretty good. Are you just taking it from the trip computer, or do use a program to keep records. I use Fuelly and Spiritmonitor (the forum uses Spiritmonitor).
I think you will need to change your signature, it is still showing 2009 ST 'Adventure' X-Trail.
Re: Well just had the 40,000 km service on the T32 TL today. It was in perfect condition and still amazes me how good this car is. The wife was very appreciative of the heated seats this morning.
On another note, a big thumbs up to Nissan Chullora. I bought the car from them and it has been serviced by them ever since. Their after sales service has been excellent, so I highly recommend them to anyone thinking of buying a new car or looking for a place to get their car serviced.
