When we had the twin boys on the outside seats, my fiancé was able to sit between them and give them food during our long drive (by this stage I think they were >1yr old and therefore forward facing. For my turn I sort of fit, for a 6ft broad shouldered fellow. Though my arms had to be raised above them. So I wouldn't say uncomfortable to fit between, but my arms were always elevated or rested on their seats. Now, my boys are 2.6yrs old and my daughter (9months) with rear facing seat, is between them. I can't upload photos on here, but can email you a pick if needed. Cheers, Bennondisclosed_email@example.com (Twin mobile)Thu, 27 Aug 2015 01:04:25 +0000 Re: Baby seats in the back of T31https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088224,from=rss#post2088224https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088224,from=rss#post2088224Yeah...and I now know what ISOFIX is all about after googling it. Didn't know before this so also glad I don't need to rethink my baby seat connections.. cheers again nondisclosed_email@example.com (dlpeek)Tue, 07 Jul 2015 08:30:49 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088223,from=rss#post2088223https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088223,from=rss#post2088223Good stuff. I'm new to babyseats and being a dad but have just rung around, it looks like the ISOFIX connectors are optional. So even though my current babyseat has the connectors it doesn't matter that the xtrail doesn't it'll still worknondisclosed_email@example.com (MetalDan)Mon, 06 Jul 2015 15:13:38 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088217,from=rss#post2088217https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088217,from=rss#post2088217Apart from the anchor points shown by Dave, the X-Trail doesn't have the ISOFIX compatible connectors and it may need to be added as an optional extra by the baby seat fitters,nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Mon, 06 Jul 2015 14:19:25 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088216,from=rss#post2088216https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088216,from=rss#post2088216Thanks for the post and photo Dave, I saw those anchor points in the back but what I wasn't sure about were the ISOFIX connectors. In my '03 Grand Vitara these are a horizontal bar that can be felt at the front of the back seats (between the backrest and seat). nondisclosed_email@example.com (MetalDan)Mon, 06 Jul 2015 12:25:41 +0000 Re: Baby seats in the back of T31https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088212,from=rss#post2088212https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088212,from=rss#post2088212Well mine is a T31 series 2 so doubt if there would be any difference. Behind the rear seats on the floor of the rear compartment are 3 square plastic covers. Remove the covers and there are fixing points for baby seats straps. I have a seat in my car for my 2yo grandson. Will need another in a few weeks as my daughter is due for my next grandchild. pic below shows the 3 plastic covers removed. I also use them for tie down points for fridge, containers etc. hope this helps and is applicable for series 4 as well. cheersnondisclosed_email@example.com (dlpeek)Mon, 06 Jul 2015 08:08:17 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088206,from=rss#post2088206https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2088206,from=rss#post2088206I checked out a t31 series IV on the wend, do these have ISOFIX points for a baby seat? I had a look but couldn't locate the bar under the back seat or see any sign of them. If anyone Can confirm that would be great.nondisclosed_email@example.com (MetalDan)Sun, 05 Jul 2015 17:40:03 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087744,from=rss#post2087744https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087744,from=rss#post2087744hahahaha good one mate nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 12 May 2015 20:42:00 +0000 Re: Baby seats in the back of T31https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087743,from=rss#post2087743https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087743,from=rss#post2087743The middle seat is for the dog jalal, the mother in law goes in the boot :-P Cheers I didn't think so and not a major prob, just good to knownondisclosed_email@example.com (MetalDan)Tue, 12 May 2015 20:19:00 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087741,from=rss#post2087741https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087741,from=rss#post2087741Yeah but yours is a T32 and the question was about the T31 nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 12 May 2015 18:48:07 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087740,from=rss#post2087740https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087740,from=rss#post2087740I have had a baby capsule and baby seat in the back of my T32 and was still able to have my wife sit in there with them quite comfortably. The answer is a definite no for that one. Well, not an adult anyway.....and definitely not my mother in law LOL Seriously though, I had a baby capsule and baby seat at the back and the middle space was a write-off.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 12 May 2015 17:05:06 +0000 Baby seats in the back of T31https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087729,from=rss#post2087729https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2087729,from=rss#post2087729Sorry for the not so hip question haha. I've got a new baby and looking at buying a T31 for a new car, and planning on another kid in a year or so. Anyone have comments how 2 baby seats fit in a T31? I know baby seats range in size so its a bit subjective, does anyone have 2 baby seats in the back and if so is there room for a person in the middle? I know in an Outback you can squish a person in the middle but couldn't in a forrester.nondisclosed_email@example.com (MetalDan)Tue, 12 May 2015 15:55:19 +0000
