Advantages of LED lights instead of the usual Incandescent bulbs.

Car wouldn't start this morning because I left One side of the front interior lights on overnight.
Battery is relatively new but it didn't take long for a 5Watt bulb to drain battery (maybe 3 days since last start).

I used to have LED lights in the roof lights but they were a bit cold/blue and the regular were nicer actually to read and see things in the dark colour wise.

If they had been in the car I probably wouldn't have had a flat battery due to their much reduced current draw.

I've ordered a set of 31mm festoon type Warm White LEDs as they are now really cheap (eBay from Aus site) and are much better colour spectrum wise than the older early ones I had.

Now looking forward to much better battery reserve, should I be an idiot again!!!

Update:
The warm white 31mm festoon LEDs arrived and I installed them in the front, middle and rear inside roof lights.

They look and perform great - colour temperature is much better than the normal bluish ultra whites that make everything look false colour.

Anyway idiot me left the twin map lights at front on (AGAIN) overnight; easily done if you manually switch on to read something.
They were on for about 38 hours - but the car started no worries!!!

Last time only one light of the front pair was left on and the battery was dead flat!!

These new low current bulbs have saved me already emoticon emoticon emoticon
