T30 Ti CD stacker " Wait " message only

Hello. I just bought this car and surprise, surprise my
CD does not work. When I press LOAD button "Wait" flashes
for about 10 seconds and then nothing. According to radio manual,
after Wait I should get Load message to insert CD.
Is my CD stuffed or can be reset in some way. I just did battery disconnection
and it made no difference.
Are this Nissan stereos worth repairing/replacing or should I consider aftermarket audio
system instead.
cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

They are not worth repairing at all and once it starts to play-up they will always give you problems later on.

This particular fault usually happens when the laser head can't read the CD content, so make sure you are inserting an original CD and not a CD-R. Nissan CD players are very picky as to what they will allow you to play. Sometime they likes CD-Rs and sometimes not.

An aftermarket unit will give you much better flexibility and sound quality.

If it is telling you to wait and then no Load indication, there could be a stuck CD inside.
You can take the unit out of the dash simply enough and then open up the unit by taking the top off and you should see a CD in there which is jambing the changer mechanism.
It did this to me once and after I got the CD out all was OK.

Re: T30 Ti CD stacker " Wait " message only

Well, I fixed it today. After removing radio and then cover on CD changer,
I found Caroline O'Connor "What I did for love" CD on the bottom of CD stacker.
Impossible to get CD out from there.
Then I notice that CD laser reading arm was not moving. Found a small slot on
top left side, pushed small screwdriver in and arm released.
Plugged it back in and tested.
CD from number 6 came out. Inserted it back and played OK. Not my kind of music
so it was binned.
At this stage I will only use one CD at one time. It was easy to remove radio but
I would hate to make it a routine.
cheers
Andrew
