T30 suspension overhaul questions.
I've had a good hunt through the forums and can't seem to find sound answers to these questions.
I'm sure Jalal will redirect me to something I've overlooked.
I've just put new struts and springs in, and effected a 30mm lift as a result.
while underneath I noticed my control arm bushes, tie rod ends, and sway bar links were in need of replacement, along with many... many other things. (250k on the clock)
I'm ordering a kit of control arm bushes - however not having done these on an exy before I'm left with wondering how many bushes I'm going to need.
The kits appear to consist of 16 urethane bushes and 8 zinc/chrome tubes.
I'm assuming this is good for only two control arms per side in the rear.
Assuming of course I need two bushes and a tube per control arm end.
(nolethane PN 46292)
I notice the third arm (radius arm?) and assume it will have bushes that need replacing too? but not sure if it uses same bushes as the control arms, and if I can just get an extra set of the above mentioned kit.
Second question:
As for the front - I'll have to cross that bridge later, but will be looking to replace control arm bushings, and need to know if I can press them out in a bearing press or if I need to replace the entire bracket.
Third and last question:
Adjustable camber? pins/bushes/etc.
I have read a few references to these, but no hard info on where to look for them.
Brakes are next, but that's a different topic...

Re:
Check THIS, as there are some bushes which you won't be able to replace/find.
If you have the service manual, it will tell you exactly how many bushings are there.

Re:
Still can't find answers despite continuing to scour the forums - so I guess I'll document my findings as I go here for those who come across the same conundrum.
...So, some parts arrived today:
Nolethane bushes from Torqindustries On Ebay
(nolethane PN 46292)
Front and rear Sway Bar links from Suzukisuper on Ebay
And finally, Tie rod ends from Taiwan (Autochassiskings on Ebay.
Brake Slide pins and exhaust parts yet to arrive.
In regards to control arm bushes - It appears they are two part bushes, meaning I have enough for 4 control arms. (2 each side), but there is a 3rd "Radius Rod" (see part 19 below)
Currently I'm not sure the the bushes from the Radius Rod are the same as those in the control arms.
advice would be appreciated if anyone can assist.

Re:
A few answers finally - but more questions as well.
As no one else seems to have posted these in a place I can locate - I'll continue to post the results of my findings.
The radius rod bushes are very close is size to the control arm bushes, but are not the same.
So far I have found a UK supplier on ebay that will sell them for a very exorbitant price.
Nissan inform me that I have to replace the entire radius rod if I want to replace bushes.
logic dictates that there should be a manufacturer somewhere that makes this bush - in order to fit it to the new arms.
A picture of the lower bush from today - which appears to be in good condition luckily:
For those planning to replace the rear control arm bushes - note that you will likely need a bearing press to remove the old bushes - mine had swelled badly, possibly due to the salt exposure from it's brief affair with a salt lake bordering a bombing range a few years back.
This seems to be the cause of alot of my issues, and a constant reminder of a single stupid choice.
Nolethane Kit 46292 is the only kit sold for the rear control arms, only comes in a kit of 8 bushes - does not include bushed for the rear radius arm. comes with barely enough grease for all bushes - so invest in some quality rubber grease before commencing this job.
also get hold of a small wire brush to help remove the remaining rubber buildup from inside the control arm ends.
Tie rod ends .....
the supplied tie rod ends were 1.5mm longer, and despite careful measurement, It's still likely that I'll need another alignment, but this was budgeted for and booked before I commenced the job.
For the front - unbolting the sway bar bushes from the chassis is quick and easy, and will save much cursing and swearing when trying to remove sway bar links as badly degraded as mine. - have quality allan keys on hand when doing this.
Rear Brake Slide pins:
These were very easy to replace - a tip, pay attention to the lower slide bolts, that have a rubber bush on the tip to prevent resonance while braking.
These apparently need to be replaced each time you remove the pins.
The supplied boots were a perfect fit and popped back into place with no need for lube or swearing.
all up replaced alot of parts today.
I "autopsied" a few parts to see how close I was to complete failure - I was a little shocked.
sway bar links would "self center" simply from the force applied by the degraded rubber boot. This is not normal, they should be very stiff.
same situation with tie rod ends, and the lower bush that holds the ball joint together was close to failure - a rather dangerous situation.
FYI - my vehicle is at 250,000km
and has had regular work on rough and mountain roads, as I've been a fire tower operator the last 3 years, and travel over the Dargo high plains road several times a year.
more photos to follow as I answer my own questions.

Re: T30 suspension overhaul questions.
I've been wondering if this is something I'll be needing to do sometime soon too. I'm replacing shocks, bump stops and covers all 4 corners with KYB while I'm doing the new front driveshafts but for now keeping the original springs as I don't want raised springs with the strut spacers and think stiffer springs might ruin articulation.
Love your work so far. I'm watching with interest.

Re:
My lift kit is longer struts and springs, not the blocks. that just seemed like the bodgy way to do it.
I haven't driven it far since the replacements yesterday, but the rear end "waddle" is gone, and a rattle that I mistook for a loose brake pad slapping the disc is also gone.
I found that one of the bushes was so worn that it was floating freely in the control arm and rattling.
easy way to check the state of these bushes is to jack up a rear wheel and give it a lateral twist. if it's easy to do so, they probably need replacing.
my rear wheels would also howl very loudly as a result of poor alignment, which was in turn caused by crook bushes. It makes it hard to get a good alignment.
