Have an annex attached and no vibrations or noise- although I'm not racing driver. Considering what to add next to them...thinking half platform and bag for added storage.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Strez)Sun, 13 Jul 2014 17:54:45 +0000 Re: Rhino Sportz Bar or Prorack Wispa Bar ?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2084105,from=rss#post2084105https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2084105,from=rss#post2084105 I went with the Whispbar. After several attempts to order online, I tired phoning the TRB to get the Rhino Sportz bars, RSP4s, tried twice, gave up. I discovered some more detail on the X-Trail Whispbar. Having found a UK supplier, I ordered the flush bar and foot pack online, no worries. It arrived a day later. Easy to fit, if slightly odd, it as uses the rail covers as part of the foot pack. The bonus is it will fit a T31 should I get one, same pack. Rhinos are not able to do this. Have driven at motorway speeds, and off road, no sound. Next will be building tie in points for the rack. Will let you know how this was done..... Thanks to all those that responded. nondisclosed_email@example.com (CharlieXT)Sun, 13 Jul 2014 05:54:57 +0000 Re: Rhino Sportz Bar or Prorack Wispa Bar ?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2083617,from=rss#post2083617https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2083617,from=rss#post2083617Hi all I actually sell Rhino and Whispbar and can probably say they are fairly evenly matched for weight and air noise, but the leg kit for the Rhino the RLCP19 (T31) RLCP04 (T30) attach better IMHO. The Rhino's let you use RS (flush end) Vortex (aero with overhang) or HD (with overhang) and you can graft on a platform or basket much easier. That said I actually removed the factory plastic rails and put on rivet on tracks on my T30 so i could move the bars wherever I wanted on the roof. The Whispbar's are good though and there are similarly 3 choices of bar available accessory wise it's about the same for either brand. Whispbar is owned by USA company Yakima who make a bunch of leisure carrying gear. Weight capacity on Rhino is 70kg and Whispbar is 75kg. I have a set of Whisbars and find them a bit meh compared to friends' Rhinos. Accessories for the Rhinos are much easier to come by, and my Whisbars suffer from serious vibrations when coupled with a Rhino platform. But this is a T31, so the Whisbars may be good for yours.nondisclosed_email@example.com (konazz)Tue, 10 Jun 2014 20:54:04 +0000 Re: Rhino Sportz Bar or Prorack Wispa Bar ?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2083583,from=rss#post2083583https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2083583,from=rss#post2083583Cheers Ben - The Yokohama AT-S will no doubt drown out any noise as you suggest. Thinking of build quality, and as you have identified fitment. nondisclosed_email@example.com (CharlieXT)Tue, 10 Jun 2014 04:49:49 +0000 Re: Rhino Sportz Bar or Prorack Wispa Bar ?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2083578,from=rss#post2083578https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2083578,from=rss#post2083578Hi Charlie, I bought a set of prorack wisper bars from ebay about a year ago and installed on my T31 trailblazer. During the process I came across a couple of issues: (Mind you, I'm not a handy man at all so below might not pose any problems for you...) 1. The installation guide included in the package is hard to follow. I couldn't entirely relate what's on the guide back to the actual parts. Had to make my own judgement several times; 2. After putting the locking assembly onto the rail slots, original rail dust covers couldn't be fitted back in. I had to trim them by carving the edge down a bit. Not too difficult as they're made of hard plastic but still quite annoying. To be fair, the installation guide did mention in the fine print section that some fitting adjustment may be required. Fortunately the dramas were over once it's up on the roof. Carried a two seat kayak a few times and nothing buckled so far. Also never notice any additional wind noise. And if there's any noise from the bars it'd be drowned out by general wind and tyre noises anyway in my opinion. Hope my experience helps you make a decision. Good luck and drive safe. While the rails on a T30 are not exactly expedition strength, they are do give some useful added space when touring or camping. Could not find much on doing a search of the forum, so apologies if this has already been discussed. I have had a look around at what is currently available and will probably go with a set of Prorack Wispa bars, however I like the look of the Rhino Sportz RSP - So what experience have people had and is there any particular advantage to each or disadvantage ? nondisclosed_email@example.com (CharlieXT)Mon, 09 Jun 2014 07:28:27 +0000
