That's a mongrel it didn't work. How would you feel about this. One of my air vents on the dash was warped a bit and sitting up. I pointed it out when I got it and they said it was enough to warrant it be replaced but they had to wait a month for it to come from Japan. So I make the day for them to do it when it arrives. Take it in, pick it up and they have "GLUED" it down with "SUPER GLUE" broken one of the little grill bits in the process of whatever pressure they applied when doing so and "GLUED" that as well! Reckon im impressed? GLUE on my dashboard! Like I wasnt supposed to notice that!! On a car I have yet to have my just 1st 10,000k service on!? It wasn't even a new one, just the same one pushed down and glued.
Picked it up yesterday but the manager wasn't there. Ill be speaking to him about this tomorrow and try real hard to be civil, if he answers my call that is. Sheesh, I thought it was just Toyota that gave bad service.

Re:

Thats really awful mate. Doesn't matter its Toyota or Nissan, it all depends on the service managers. I hope you managed to get this sorted by now.

I've been unwell and happened to take my X-Trail to the dealer. Asked for the service manager directly and he is spot on. Moment I told about the door issue he identified the cause and asked to book it in to fix the problem. He wasn't clear though about the fix. Also, my car doesn't idle smoothly. I could hear a bit of tapping noise from engine when it idles. I could hear more in drive-thrus, at signals. I thought it would go away since its brand new. It has now done 2000kms and the sound didn't get any better. Not sure if its normal with Nissan engines. Mine is 2.5L petrol. Do these engines idle smoothly? or do they sound a bit of ticking or kind of tappet noise?

I have been asked to book the car in for inspection. Hope its just the way these engines are.

Re:

Hi Yogi. After the second glue job I got Nissan Aus involved. Gotta say the guy who is on the case is great. First bloke I dealt with from them a while back was outright condescending and not helpful at all, sounded like I was talking to a kid just out of school and spoke to me like crap, but the one im dealing with now is A1. First prob that was under warranty was supposed to be taken care of but when I spoke to this guy he was still waiting to hear from the dealer, they had not bothered to contact him. I sent photos of the problem to him and it was taken care of instantly. Was a paint flaw that only stood out on cloudless days. Sunny day really hard to see but on cloud cover days looked like a huge dirty mark that stood out like the proverbial. Big dark patch. Wasn't noticeable in the showroom at the time at all. As soon as he saw it he agreed it needed to be taken care of.
The glue issue is going to be sorted this or next week, he couldn't believe they had done that to a new car and wasn't impressed at all. I have no doubts that it will turn out good for me thanks to the guy im now dealing with from Nissan Aus. Top guy.
Don't know about your engine noise, hit a search here for it and see what turns up.
Mines a diesel and makes noises that on a petrol car would have you thinking it was on its last legs, but with mine its normal as.
Here's hoping it all turns out good your end too mate.
