Re:

I think your ST is missing the tweeters which other models have. I had this problem with my T30 ST and it was solved as soon as I fitted the tweeters in the dash (corners).

Re: It's official. I own an X-Trail!

Yes Wendy, my Ti came with the tweeters and there is nothing wrong with the sound from the standard stereo with the full compliment of speakers as Jalal mentions.

Thanks for the excellent advice, Jalal and confirmation, Kev. I shall look into it as it seems a simple solution.

Cheers,

Wendy

Not planning on it. Dirt roads in pursuit of birding/photography but nothing heavy, no. I wouldn't want to without someone else along in case I got in trouble either. I probably should do a course just in case.

Re:

Definitely add some bash plates. Even for the little bit of off-roading for the pursuit of a good photo. (I know that feeling, the places i've ended up driving to).

The other use I have for the UHF is in case I actually do need to use it for an emergency.
An off-road/dirt track course is a good idea. As it should make anyone a more confident driver in sketchy situations on the road.

Re:

Yeah, the bash plates had crossed my mind but I think the tow/bull bars have priority. Lordy, now I'm worried I'll knock a roo over flat with the bull bar, Eddie will drive right over it and it will damage something underneath because I don't have bash plates on it. emoticon Gee, thanks guys.

Bought a cheap cargo mat off ebay ... cheap is the word - flimsy as, not to mention its actually the mirror reverse of what it should be so it's pretty well useless. I think I'll just bite the bullet and go to the dealer for that one.

Re: Windscreen Question

One week of ownership and Eddie is now sporting a cracked windscreen. One tiny stonechip in the bottom righthand corner with a 15cm crack horizontal going left. A centimeter to the right and it would have hit the bodywork.

Insurance will cover it but what I'd like to know is will I be able to get the shade checked template which is on the original windscreen on a replacement. I've been really happy to have that shade behind the rearview mirror and would like to keep that. If it's not a template/part that can be applied to a replacement windscreen from a reputable windscreen mob (I expect applied prior to fitting), will I have to get a replacement windscreen from the dealer? Or will I just have to accept the loss of the shade?
