Brisbane during new years week 2014

Does anyone want to meet up/go for a drive or anything during the week of new years (next week) in the Brisbane area?

I'm not sure yet as to what day I'll get down to Brisbane (either on the Sunday or Monday-everything depends on when my brothers in-laws return to Rocky to collect the little dog i'm looking after).
I only need to be back in Rocky by the afternoon of Sunday the 5th of Jan.

Anyone interested and any ideas on what to do/where to go?

Hi, it has been so long since I have been off road. Love to catch up and head for a spin out to the 14 river crossings for the day.
Regards Scot.

I had never heard of 14 river crossings until now. Sounds like a good run and it would be nice to meet a couple of fellow x-trailers.

Re:

I'll leave this one to you guys, my course has changed in the past 2 days due to recent events for me.
I'm now taking the week to stay at home relax. And I get to avoid that horrendous traffic north of Brisbane.

However there will be more time later in the year to go places if events turn out at work. Until then I will be trying to keep away from those who cause me undue stress.

But, if there is anything within 4~hrs of Rocky I'll come down for a run any weekend I'm not working. As I can always get back with little lost time for places that close and still be right for work the next Monday.

As a note Australia Day weekend is now free also at this time. If anyone is up for anything?

Re:

As it happens (because it was so hot yesterday) my wife and I decided to spend the day cruising around in air conditioned comfort and went for a run out to Killarney. The 14 crossings were good fun and it's a very pretty area to explore. The falls route is *still* closed and we had to do the detour through white swamp which made the return trip a bit longer than expected. I wonder if they will ever repair that road?

Anyway, have a good break, Scarey :-)

I'm back in Brissy now and happy to meet up if something firms up. I'm 'between jobs', so any day suits me for a while.

Cheers,
Mark
