X Trail 1/8th mile ShootOut Sunset Strip Mildura

emoticon Hi Augustus the X Trail here, after reading the top speed posts I decided a day at the drags with my fellow X Trails was in order.

The great facility at the Sunset Strip 1/8th mile is my preferred venue for a Shootout.

The track is easily hired, well run and heaps of fun.

I suggested Sunset Strip Mildura, as it is fairly central to most owners from SA VIC and NSW, so we could make this a TRI State event, and it's a great place to play!

We could hold diesel and petrol classes, modded and un-modded, be great fun.

We could then have a finals shootout.

We can average the top 10 results from each state and decide the winning state that way.

The whole point of a track day is the great chance to meet each other and do a heap of bench racing (Drag racing lingo for dribbling !@#$) as well as real runs.

With less than 50 Exys you would be looking at easily 20 plus runs for the day, as it's an 1/8th mile the track is cleared quicker so more runs for everyone. So we could start at daylight and as it has lights so we can go until the 10 o'clock curfew.

For those not familiar with it all we could have a Drag Racing School, be a real cool way to get the newbs up to speed real quick.

So if anyone's interested I can Line up Sunset Strip Mildura fairly cheap, great 1/8th mile facility, and if they don't have to do track prep with traction compound it's cheaper again! We wont require it!

Plenty of cheap quality Accommodation around as well if you pick the right time of the year and go off peak!

Not sure if they are currently allowing camping at the track, but I can ask!

If anyone's interested I'll put together a package, with any money above and beyond expenses, going into prizes for your exy!

So lets have a shootout party and some fun. And the track used to have a mud racing track as well, that they might get back into shape for us, we could very easily have mud drags as well!

The club also runs bar facilities at reasonable prices. emoticon

I'd really like this to become an annual event, open only to X Trails!!!!

Look forward to your responses, Augustus the X Trail (getting Muddy all the time) emoticon

PS 20 plus would be required at $150 per Exy for a one day event, including decent catering and awesome prizes! $50 per person otherwise. This is a not for profit venture, all monies over and above running costs will be put into prizes.

I'd love your thoughts and if you'd like a one day or two day event, also the preferred time of year, just remember Mildura is packed and the track is not available on all major public holidays, though at last look Australia Day next year was still available.

Plenty to do around Sunraysia, and side trips could be arranged.

Unfortunately a bit too far away for me to attend.

Much as I'd like to experiment with CVT 'launch control'!

I'm a bit confused about the pricing...

Would one car with one person be 150 dollars or 50 dollars?

(Apologies if it is obvious to everyone else, but I suffer from linear thinking.)

Hi Dogtrail, it would be $150 per Exy including one driver, additional drivers or spectators would be $50 per person, basic catering would be included, so great value.

If enough interest we would also do Kids pricing or family tickets, as drag racing is always promoted as family friendly.

Linear thinking might be a good thing for drag racing, LOL

Hope we get plenty of responses, as I'm about to cop a High Tech single exhaust and a heap of other goodies from the X Trail Shop, Yippee, cant wait to try them out at my favourite track.

Well off to have a Bath emoticon, but Dad's promised me some mud action on the weekend emoticon Augustus the X Trail emoticon
