T31 Door handle protectors

Heys guys,

Mods - sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, feel free to move it if need be.

I was recently detailing the car and noticed a whole stack of scratches behind the door handles and realised that these coming from my wifes engagement and wedding rings. so before this got any worse I decided to hunt for something similar to the T30.

I found these emoticon Nice shiney chrome and matches the handles to a T.

its a very good fit and is moulded to the shape of the door and sticks on with 3m tape.

Looks nice emoticon

Cheers

Re: T31 Door handle protectors

Your solution does dress it up nicely and obviously protects the paint in the grip dimple.

I had similar concerns but I didn't know that the item you used was available so I used protective 3M transparent wide film to do that job.

At $11 per metre, it was cheap to buy enough to do the door edges and the tailgate entrance as well as the dimples behind the door handles.

I'm thinking about adding another strip to protect the paint on the front section of the car below the bonnet protector. (I should probably do that before it is marked by stones and insects).

Re:

I noticed similar scratches on mine. They were pretty light, so I used Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 to remove them. I did see these sorts of scratch guards online too and did contemplate putting them on our T31. They certainly look the part :-)

Cheers,
Mark

They're available on evilbay mate.

I made a promise to my wife and myself that no "chrome" accessory will go on the Red Bull.....after the Chrome Attack I had on my T30 LOL emoticon

Re:

Hey Phil,

They can be found there emoticon They came within 2 days. Works out at $10 a door incl postage. They look like part of the handle and doesnt look cheap. If you decide to get them, look carefully as one side slot is bigger to compensate for the shape of the door handle.

Jalalski - I too was afraid of these looking tacky but they do look the part. I was going to spray them with Plastidip but then was afraid my T31 would look like a T30 ha ha ha (not that there is anything wrong with T30's)

Regards

Mark

Admin Edit: eBay link removed. An item description is enough for members to locate the item on eBay themselves. No links required. Thanks.

Re:

Am sure they look nice, it's just am staying away from the whole "chrome theme", so don't try and change my mind as the old habit can hit me harder than you can imagine and instead of a Red Bull, I will end-up with a Chrome Bull emoticon

Re: T31 Door handle protectors

Thanks for the info guys, I did look on the BayOfEvil but all I could see was stick on Kevlar patches (which being black like the car I thought might be cool). I'll look again.
Cheers,
Phil
