What brand diesel do you use?
There are a few threads on here about diesel, but how about a members summary i.e. what brand/blend do you use? Why? Any other relevant comments?
Just short, sweet, informative to help navigate the diesel jungle?
Cheers,
Phil

Re: What brand diesel do you use?
Thanks Mark, makes a pretty good case for Caltex. And that happens to be my local servo.
Cheers,

Re: What brand diesel do you use?
Hi Phil, Dad will only fill me with Caltex Vortex Premium Diesel, unless desperate. I get more power out of it, so If I'm driven carefully I get better economy. It keeps my fuel system really clean, very important!
Dad used to buy BP, but after their response to their disaster in the Gulf Of Mexico, he Boycotts them , reckons he'd much rather push me!!!!!
The Caltex premium Diesel really helps with my down low grunt off road to.
Well I'm gunna get extra Muddy tomorrow, LOL, Augustus the X Trail

Re:
As per my previous thread in the Diesel forum regarding diesel quality, I only use either Caltex Vortex Diesel or BP Ultimate diesel. These have the lowest sulphur levels which is the stuff that cokes up your DPF.
The biggest enemy to your common rail fuel system is water - avoid watery fuel at all costs!

Thank you Mark, good advice which I will heed.

Re:
I use Caltex as much as possible since I've got the StarCard for my leased car but not all Caltex in regional towns that I go to carry vortex diesel so regular diesel will have to do. If no Caltex, I take a risk with Gull but haven't had any problems with Gull so far.
