Re: The nerve of some people
I haven't bought the wrong car because I'm a sane person (mostly)
I have no intention of trying to engineer a chassis or install low range. My point simply never say never.

Re: The nerve of some people
This is a 2 reply topic which has already reached several pages of drivel, so that makes me feel free to add some more in the hope that this will end it.
Firstly: The OP was sucked in by a Troll.
Secondly: Do not ever feed a Troll.
Thirdly: I understand why the OP switched forums to raise this point -as there is only grief on a troll reactive forum criticising something you believe in.
Most importantly: The infection of the Troll has passed over to this forum to cause unsubstantiated debate of perception of known but (as far as the Troll is concerned) immaterial differences in X-Trail versions. (Not the fault of the OP who was merely making a statement.)
That Troll would be laughing it's head off at the unfounded, pointless consternation, action, reaction and tail-biting shown here.
Thank goodness it is likely be too stupid to ever discover the link to find out how much more successful it has been on this Forum than on its first attempt on the other forum.

Sorry mate, but we look at things here in an "realistic" exy way, unlike the troll you mentioned who has no idea about xtrails

Mate there is no troll, you are a double victim of troll and fed it. The xtrail hater got his information from a mate of a mate. Xtrails arent that bad offroad but arent as good as a proper 4wd with a low range transfer case. The op wasnt sucked in you were, read what he said.

I know my exy won't go as far as a "proper" 4WD with ladder frame and low range, that's why there's a lifted Navara in the driveway too...

Yep, and that's why I have an FJ40 with lifted suspension and Holden V8 for the more challenging weekends away....

Don't convince ARB as they're hopeless, convince Nissan Japan
You'd have much better chance with ARB.
My experience with Nissan Australia & Nissan Japan is entirely negative. I've been doing battle with both for months over a dealer dishonesty issue in Qld.
Not only has Nissan not provided any feedback on action taken or not, they've gone a step further and refused to provide any feedback and have done nothing in relation to me driving a 450km+ return trip to the dealer, except point me in the direction of the next closest dealer 300 km away which we went to and left us feeling quite unimpressed!
The chances of my wife allowing me to buy another Nissan are ZERO after only 8mths of owning an Xtrail.
Rogue dealers doing whatever they like and not being held accountable by Nissan is totally inexcusable.
I certainly wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Nissan to listen to customer feedback of any kind, when all they can manage to do in relation to dealer dishonesty and lousy service is to make excuses for the offending dealers and refer us back to our selling dealer 2000km away!
If I ran my business like Nissan does, treating customers like an exploitable resource, I'd be out of business.
