Re: Cargo Draws and 60 L fridge slide

Wow that is really amazing, and I see maxqmoore is also doing similar.

It truly makes the Xy into a tourer.

I have Xy envy and more now on the wish list.

However I'm still with the plastic boxes....so many upgrades want, so little money!
But the Exy is still getting me out there.

Good job, well done. Nice to see the 'important bits' are permanently inside the fridge ! emoticon

Re:

G'day all,

I'm in the final stages of doing a very similar setup to what Phil has done. I noticed that he hasn't been on Forum for quite some time.

I'd like to re ask what Maxgmoore said about mounting the gas struts. I'm happy enough to go to the shop and buy the correct size based on the expert opinion at the shop, but its more the placement on the vehicle itself.

I'm very hesistant about drilling/rivoting into the wheel well, as I'm not 100% sure of whats on the other side.

Is there anyway I can do serious damage (ie: puncture the fuel tank or a wiring loom) by drilling pilot holes through the wheel well?

How can I get access to a diagram that shows what is underneath the vehicle ?

To see what is around the wheel well and especially how much clearance there is just slide under the Xtrail on your back and have a look emoticon

Re: Cargo Draws and 60 L fridge slide

Hey mate, I didn't end up using gas struts. I did put a false floor in on hinges to lift up. My fridge is to big to lift up and still get the wheel out so I opted not to worry with gas struts. There is a write up on my build in my members ride thread
