As Tony said, the genuine Nissan wiring kit for a T31 xtrail model with LED tail lights does indeed come with a regulator.

Jalal, you wouldn't have the code for this loom, would you?
Cheers,
Phil

Re:

Check Page 1 of this thread which shows the LED Module in the wiring loom and my post under that has a link to the fitting instructions with the part number for the towbar wiring loom. Check that against the one you have or call a different Nissan dealer.

Thanks Jalal, that is the same set of instructions I emailed to you, with the tow bar fitting instructions. No relay box, only a micro switch in the trailer socket flap for reverse sensor inhibit. I have spoken to another, very helpful, dealer spares guy and we have decided that the relay is not required or supplied by Nissan. Hope we are right.

Re:

So you are saying that the wiring loom you currently have doesn't have the black module box shown in a pic on page 1 of this thread?

I don't have the loom yet, picking it up next Tuesday. but according to the seller (a Nissan dealer), another Nissan spares guy, the dealer I bought the car off, my install guy and the wiring diagram there is no black box in the genuine wiring kit for all T31's including the current one with LED tail lights. emoticon

Re:

I got a price for the tow bar and wiring kit.

I mentioned it was the series V and I was told price and part number was the same.

I haven't purchased it yet, price was $120 for the kit plus $20 if you want the round plug.

Re: Towbar wiring for T31

Steve Jarvin Nissan in Burwood have the bar and kit for $559 plus delivery. Preston Nissan in Victoria have it for $520 (I think) but you need to organise your own courier. Regular price on the wiring kit seems to be 150 to 160 so 120 is pretty good.
Cheers,
Phil

Re:

Complete pricing I received was as follows.

Towbar $430
Towbar wiring kit (comes with square plug) $120
Towbar ball $15
Towbar wiring adaptor for round plug $20

If preston Nissan have the bar and kit for $520 that looks like the best price, seems like all the same ball park.

Re:

A lot of the 4WD shops realy only know the ins and outs of the most common 4bys, Patrol and Landcruiser.
I would not listen to these guys and just fit the harness in, it will work without any problems.
