One night at Wombeyan caves.

During the Easter long weekend I decided to take a quick trip down to Wombeyan Caves with my girlfriend and some mates. I have never been there before and it truly was a wonderful place and it seemed a shame to go for only a single night.

We took Wombeyan Caves Rd in and enjoyed the sights, camping the night my orignal decision was to drive to Taralga and take a nice chilled drive back along Swallow Tail Pass but due to time restrictions we took the Wombeyan Caves Rd back but not before stopping at the 'Secret 4X4 park' near the nudist retreat. The park had a few interesting challenges including this river crossing which is the only thing we got photos of and where I also believe I cracked my Inner passenger side CV boot, bit of a bugger but all good now.

I look forward to doing the 'caves to caves' trip in the future.

Also I'am not worried about the rego in the photos..

Re: One night at Wombeyan caves.

Hey Michael, I'd love to come but im a bit low on funds right now.

Also the River crossing is part of the River Island Naturalist resort mid way along the Wombeyan Caves Rd. Because its private i'd take caution going in there with a large number of vehicles. Theres a turn off for it just before you enter the resort. If you do decide to go there be careful about clearance on the entry and especially the river crossing, some big boulders in the water. The other side of the river is meant to have some more 'hardcore' stuff but I didn't have a look, I will next time.

Heres a couple more pics of the X-trail from the trip.
