Power issue/strange behavior - now fixed

this problem is now fixed, but i thought i would tell you guys (knowledge is power)

Problem/behavior
loss of power at speed and overtaking (would bearly overtake at 90Km)
when reversing up an incline, would get like ESP was working (but no tires were slipping - would give power then stop, power then stop ect.) - tried 4wd lock and ESP off...... did it also front ways, but less severe.

Problem Found
i towed a trailer and apparently there was a short that blew the stop light fuse (that is what they are there for)
over the next couple of days, i noticed the problems above

so the power issues were solely caused by the brake light fuse being blown - cost me $50 at a nissan dealer to fix emoticon
(they put it on the diagnostic machine, which costs $75 - but gave me a discount)

i now carry spare fuses with me everywhere - hope this helps others

Yep, this was discussed on the forum before emoticon

The other one to watch out for is the reverse lights fuse and wiring. If one of them is not working it will send your car into limp mode.

Of course I assume you would have rectified the trailer wiring problem that caused the short in the first place!

cheers

thanks for the heads up about the reverse too emoticon

yep, will also check the lights on the trailer.. seems strange that they would blow a fuse in the new car but not the old car (although it has been about 6 months since i used the trailer)

just to be absolutely sure it is not wiring for the tow hitch - will hook up a friends trailer (that is in perfect condition) and try everything..

thanks again guys
