maps and tracks

had no idea where to put this, this seemed like the best spot.

i thought it would be a good idea to ask what you guys use for maps?? for tracks

the hema maps (which you can buy in ringbound) seem to have the best quality for an overall book - although you have to be careful how detailed the book is, many hema maps loose detail because they cover too much of an area.

i actually bought a very good - different book many years ago, but it is slightly less detail than the HEMA books

i personally found getting a book for "South West WA" has better detail than an "Australia" book

even though these books are excellent (above) - for really good detail i found the Dola Maps the best - but a pain in the a**, as they are huge sheets of paper.....

google earth (not the map section) is good for tracks, (he he) providing you can see them from the sky

what have you guys found as best?? hopefully there is something i am missing emoticon

Re: maps and tracks

I have electronic HEMA maps for Central OZ, Cape York, Flinders Ranges and a couple of other places as well as NSW topo maps. I run them on Androzic. You can see the details here.

You need to be a contributing member to access that section. Just google Ardrozic to find out some info about it.
