X-Trail and Camping

Since i bought my X-Trail i pretty much got straight into camping also.

So i got to wondering is there many people on the forum that go on trips and theyre Exy takes them places that is great for camping?

And also put up photos of your camping setup with the Exy

This is my setup, not a great photo, but you get the idea:

That's an AWESOME way to camp! Love those setups. Are the factory roof racks strong enough? There's two things I want to copy from your car now! emoticon

I 'd love a camper trailer but don't have anywhere to put one at the moment. Actually, come to think of it I don't have anywhere to store the roof top tent either. Will have to stick to tent in the back until I'm back to my bigger place in Canberra.

Re:

I'm not sure about the factory bars, but the Rhino Heavy Duty Bars are more than sufficient. Although they are pretty noisy, so be warned. I'm currently looking to upgrade to a pioneer alloy platform for more functionality and less noise. Another first for an xtrail emoticon

Ps. Found one! Apologies for the terrible quality, as I was dead-tired from driving all day and wasn't in the mood for a photo-shoot emoticon

Picture a tarp on the ground with a swag on it and a pair of boots beside the head of the swag. Its not too bad at -5 degC at Middleton, Qld in July.
The boots were a bit chilly on my feet the next morning tho. emoticon

That's my setup when I don't sleep in the back in the swag.
It fits perfectly for my short height, with the fridge and my bag behind it at the back.

Sometimes there isn't enough room to sleep in the back unless I put the board down inside that sits on top of everything (spares wheels and emergency food).
I don't think there is a photo of the inside of the first car from when I did the first long drive.

But I get called on to pack other people's trailers for moving due to my tetris skills.
