Re:
Cool arthur...
Maybe todd can throw some ideas on how to fit camping in, so those who want to can (and spend sunday morning exploring before heading back to Sydney), and those that want a single long day can head back to Sydney. I was pretty smashed after the Lithgow trip: 5 hours to Lidsdale on Friday, then all Saturday at Newnes/Ben Bullen, then Sunday lunch at Glenbrook, visit family in Sydney, and drive home to Canberra in the evening.
Potentially - go from Jenolan to Wombeyan instead - that way its about 2h back to Yerranderie from Wombeyan in the afternoon. As long as we're in Wombeyan by 5pm, then we'll make it back to Yerranderie in day light. The sun sets around 7pm in late march. Or simply camp at Wombeyan (but it'd be nicer to stay closer to the Jenolan side).

Re: Caves to caves???
Michael there is bush camping (no facilities) close to the Jenolan end. Otherwise if you want to start at the Jenolan end there is a pretty good spot to camp just down the road (approx 15km) from Wombeyan Caves - Wollondilly River Station. Brian, the owner, has reputation for being a hard ass but I think he's just a no bulls**t kind of guy. It costs $10pp/night. Not sure if this was the place Arthur was referring to?
You're right that camping at Wombeyan end will make exploring Yerranderie on the sunday fairly easy.

Re: Caves to caves???
Nothing planned at the moment Arthur. I will be up around Shoal Bay from late jan to mid feb so will probably head onto Stockton for a day or 2 but not solid plans yet.

Re:
Yeah... I've heard of Wollondilly River Station, and that the owner can be a bit 'ruff'. But I think a lot of it is about managing expectations - it isn't a Big 4 caravan park but a working property.
That might be a go-er, doing it from Jenolan then camping near Wombeyan... I actually like the NPWS camp area near the caves, but I'm not really fussed.
FYI: if anyone's around Newnes on Feb 15/16, give me a yell I'll be down at the camp site. Also will be at Nelson Bay/Stockton (bought some max trax) on March 10/11 (I've got Top Gear at eastern creek on the Saturday, and a Canberra public holiday on the monday!)

Michael,
Please stick to one trip per thread rather than branching out in multiple directions and multiple planned trips in the same thread. This will only confuse everyone and would lessen the chances of participation.

Re:
Only problem going through Dingo Dell would be the Kowmung River.
Last time we crossed that easily but all is needed is a few days of good rain and she turns nasty.
