We ended up leaving camp after a VERY cold night around 10am. It was a great day in the end. We had a few last second bails from my mates, but it was still a good crowd - 4 x-trails and my 'support vehicle' BT-50. Getting trip report sorted hopefully tonight.nondisclosed_email@example.com (konazz)Sun, 14 Apr 2013 21:10:48 +0000 Re: Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073004,from=rss#post2073004https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073004,from=rss#post2073004You missed out on a great day Tony! Thanks Michael, got a few maps of the area now so should be fine now. I will be leaving Sydney a little later now as a family member from the UK is visiting but I hope to be at the camping area between 4-5pm. Yes I have a UHF and will ensure its tuned into channel 26. Yep thats it... its the ONLY camp ground on that road - you can't miss it (there's a drop toilet on the right hand side from memory). Essentially, pass through Jenolan, head up Edith Road, and 5kms later turn off for the Kanagra-Boyd NP / Kanangra Walls lookout. If you've got some time to kill, head up to the look out there - its amazing (although we'll head over there later in the arvo when we get there as well). Have you got a UHF? We'll call through when we get out of Dingo Dell/Kowmung valley, and on top of the Boyd plateau. Take your time leaving Sydney, as I reckon we'll get up on the Plateau around 3-4pm.nondisclosed_email@example.com (konazz)Tue, 09 Apr 2013 22:01:26 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2072834,from=rss#post2072834https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2072834,from=rss#post2072834All good Griz and understand! Pulling out some of the old camping gear today to see what state its in! May need to pick up some new stuff! Nathan, decided I'm gonna leave a bit earlier. My father in law is only down for the weekend and hasn't spent much time in the Blue mountains. So I'm gonna leave significantly earlier to make the most of the weekend. That said, my thoughts are to leave my place in Kogarah around 0700, head up the mountain and see the Three Sisters, from there on to Newens State Forest at the bottom of the Zig zig railway down at Clarence, and go up to a couple of lookouts and do some of blackfellows hand trail. Then have some lunch and start making our way down past Lithgow out to Oberon and pick up any last minute supplies then as per Michael's directions into the Karanga State Forest headed for the Boyd River campground. All things going well, my aim is to arrive at the campground around 1430-1530. If you are keen, happy for you to tag along. I'll be on channel 10 and will be around the mulgoa rd turn off around 0800. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Griz84)Sun, 07 Apr 2013 15:04:26 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2072761,from=rss#post2072761https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2072761,from=rss#post2072761Still might be a chance, don't right me off yet. nondisclosed_email@example.com (cooch t31)Sat, 06 Apr 2013 18:50:10 +0000 Re: Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2072754,from=rss#post2072754https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2072754,from=rss#post2072754quote:cooch t31 wrote: Looking a bit dicey about the 14th, I thought that being a few months away at the time it would be a sure thing but looks like I'm taking the kids down to their Nanna's in Moruya for the holidays. I've got snatch straps, spare tyres, max trax, shovels, etc. Also nothing a few 3 litre diesel can't help you out with (Rob has towed me up very steep and rutted out tracks when I overheated my clutch) One thing that is handy, if you have a towbar, is a recovery point to use a rated bow shackle... about $40 from Super cheap auto.nondisclosed_email@example.com (konazz)Thu, 04 Apr 2013 20:54:15 +0000 Re: Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2072681,from=rss#post2072681https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2072681,from=rss#post2072681quote:ArthurV wrote: As much as it kills me to say, I may not be able to attend.
