I will sort out and hopefully post tomorrow.

Hi All,

Yes it is Townsville, showing the Ross River and Flinders St East. The cryptic clues are in reference to the buildings in the picture. The yellow building with white highlights on the left is The Bank Lounge Bar (The financial institution), two buildings to the right is the Exchange Hotel (swap), three buildings to the right is the Mad Cow Hotel (crazy bovine), to the right of the Mad Cow is a building with a bright sign on the wall, this is Santa Fe Gold (spanish precious metal).

Cheers

John

You would have to have parked there and looked at each building to know that, or had a few drinks. emoticon I thought my level crossing at Almaden was obscure enough. But the architecture did give it away.

Re: Guess the location

Well Julie that was too easy methinks.

It is indeed the Tibooburra Hotel.

So your turn now which is justice for the fact that I would not have picked John's Townsville post had you not listed a few possibilities.

Have a great Sunday all.

Re:

It was a bit easy Dave.

Having to dredge through ten year old pics to find anything to post, hardly been anywhere for the last few long years.

Taken in 2007. Don't think it's changed too much.

Re: Guess the location

Hi Julie.
I'm a bit of googler when spare time allows but for the life of me your pic has me stumped. I looked at a past trip report of yours and you mentioned lots of towns you went through in the the northern part of Oz but googling for images of concrete road bridges in different towns etc Including bridges, narrow bridges, rural bridges etc etc etc) has produce ZILCH.

perhaps a tiny "hint" may help me with my endeavours???????????? pls pls pls

cheers all.

Re: Guess the location

OK Julie.
Your "hint" of Queensland's longest river has eventually led me to my guess of:-

Th Ernest Henley bridge across the Flinders River at Hughenden QLD.

????

cheers
