It looks as though you all might need a hint, so here goes:

The financial institution intends to swap the crazy bovine for Spanish precious metal.

Cheers

Re:

Gladstone? ....nah.
The hill is too close for Townsville.
Mackay is flat, Bundaberg is flat, so is Rockhampton. It's not Innisfail or Cairns.
Can't be Queensland, nothing looks like that.
Can't think of anything in NSW that looks like that either.... :-/

So, the bank wants to buy mad cow disease with gold?
I think I give up.

Hi Julie,

It is in one of the towns you mentioned. Try to work out my cryptic clue.

Cheers

Re:

It looks like Townsville, but I can't pick where.
Mackay is definitely too flat.
Rockhampton the river banks are too high.
It looks like Innisfail, but the river banks are wrong and the buildings on the left don't belong.
Gladstone doesn't seem to have a road with buildings like that by the river.
It's not Cairns.

Still can't get the cryptic clue.

Re: Guess the location

I believe it definitely is Townsville Julie. There is an image on the internet showing the sloping roof of the building from a different angle with the dome on the building behind it (or beside it depending on angle) is also in the image.

Is that correct John??

cheers all.

ps I must admit I searched for images of harbour ports etc using the first town Julie mentioned (Townsville) and bingo...saw a pic with the building with the sloping roof.

Image at Townsville below.

Re:

I looked everywhere for that bl**dy roof Dave.
It definitely had the feeling of Townsville, and really the only town for infrastructure like that, but I still cannot pick exactly where it is. Not even on Google Earth.
.....okay, after another look. That carpark looks like it's barely there.
It's yours Dave emoticon

Re: Guess the location

I also looked for that building on just about every port/river on the east coast but got nowhere as high as Townsville.

Hey John. I regularly have a go at cryptic crosswords but your "hint" has stumped me. Fill us all in please.

And stay tuned for another pic within the next hour or so.

cheers again
