Beerburrum and Donnybrook day out

Thanks for organising this day Ty, I'll get the report started for you mate.

Well, the day started out when we all met up at the Big Maccas in Caboulture.

After everyone arrived we had intros, Dave and Tracey set the pace going through what to do when driving, tail end Charlie was selected (Thanks John).

We headed off and crawled through town as the place was jumping (Sunday markets) lol. Took a wrong turn but quickly figured out we missed the turn and did a snappy uturn and got back onto the right road.

We found a few nice spots for testing out the newbies, seeing what they were willing to do and seeing what the cars could handle. Just a teaser for what was to come later.

We ended up at Beerburrum Lookout and stopped for a rest and toilet break. After chatting about the cars, rust proofing and such we head off and headed to the next stop. We did some tracks on the side of the main road and these were great for getting us ready for the main event.

So from there we continued on and then we got into the good stuff.

After such great fun we headed off and ended up at our lunch stop and had to walk a few 100 metres into the state forest and sat around muching out and reminiscing about the morning's run.

After lunch, we headed off but the rest of the trip was mainly bitumen so we pulled over and basically said our farewells to everyone and headed home.

A really great day, fantastic track. Good to meet some newbies and travel in the great southeast Qld. I think it was great we had some rain the day beforer as it settled most of the dust but unfortunately, not much mud.

Thanks everyone who came along, and Dave and Tracey for leading the way - you did a fantastic job and would follow you again anytime.

Everyone was consulted and no one had any issues with displaying number plates for this trip.

Re: Beerburrum and Donnybrook day out

hi guys,
The new version of Photobucket is not producing the correct code for a clickable thumbnail. I've done this one by lots of manual editting. Of all the pictures Bob took of the trip, this one of Steve with the wheel off the deck, wins hands down. Check how little contact the left front has as most of the tyre is above the deck. More to come later.

John, please revert back to the old PhotoBucket style. The new one obviously still has bugs in it. This will save you from having to edit all hosted pics.

Re: Beerburrum and Donnybrook day out

Jamie, thanks for starting the trip report.
Well what started as an exploration trip by me (although in a different section) turned out to be an awesome day out.
We didn’t break the NSW records for attendance but we all had a great time.

The photos and videos did not do any justice to the ruts we encounter, as I think they looked much bigger and deeper in real life.
There are many side tracks that are just waiting to be explored, and I can see a possible 2nd outing in the future.

Once again I would like to thank Dave and Tracey who took to the helm. And for Jamie for his extensive knowledge of the terrain.
And thanks for everybody that came along, I hope your day was as good as mine.

Sorry no photos or videos from me as after the 1st video (not a good one) my phone memory was full. Need to upload about 800 photos of the kids.

Cheers
Ty
