Has anyone been to Cameron's Corner, advice please.

Hi to All,
We've been looking at options for a trip next year and although Tasmania again would be good, I'm looking at something differrent. I saw a segment last week on one of the lifestyle shows following the V8's about Cameron's Corner. This is the corner post where Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia all meet. I'm thinking of late autumn, cooler temps I think the Xtrail would appreciate towing the Jayco camper. From here we are going out to Goondiwindi, down the Newell (again) to Coonabarabran for the first overnight stop. Overnight stops then at Cobar, Broken Hill then Tibooburra for two overnights. Would leave the camper there and do the drive out to Cameron's corner.

Has anyone here done this trip before and can offer any advice or info. Is there anything that I really need to look out for? It is at least 6 months away and a lot can change in that time as to whether it comes off or not.

John

Re:

John sounds like a great trip and we have only been as far as Coonabarabran.

We did a lot of exploring around there and there is also a nice pottery place off the beaten track that is well worth the visit and also siding springs observatory is also a great place.

Coolah tops national park has some great views there as well.

I hope more information gets posted here for you as this is some info for you to consider.

Regards Scot

Re: Has anyone been to Cameron's Corner, advice please.

Hi Scot and all,
Thanks for the info and I'm hoping for much more from anyone who has knowledge of the area. Today on the Beerburrum trip, Stephen ( Loafer), made a great suggestion in asking if other forum members would like to do the trip as well. The idea of travelling with another vehicle gives much security and a shared experience. Be great if we could have someone from Qld, Nsw, Victoria, South Australia all standing together at the corner. There would be much to consider and plan given the distance, but the final experience would be worth it. If others wished to join, we could possibly meet up at the different towns already mentioned. Food for thought and still just a General Discussion item at this stage.

 Cheers
John

I was up at Camerons Corner a few years ago in a 2WD Corolla & came back to Adelaide via Innaminka & the Strezlecki Track, so it is not too difficult.
Just need to drive to the conditions & take it easy.
In the Exy it will be a breeze.

Hi Wayne and Todd,
Thanks for the info, now even interested in putting the tyres on the Strezlecki Track while we are out that way.

I thought that too Jalal, but I don't think it is at this stage. Just sharing info for now.

I'm planning on going mid august as it won't be too hot, shouldn't be too wet and I hope to be through Birdsville before the races in early Sept.
