Warranty...

Okay, before I go and ask Nissan. Just wanted to find out from here.

I've got a base model, and my idea was that I'd slowly get a few extras here and there. The dealer said it's best to book it in a couple of weeks before my scheduled services. So if I wanted the towball installed they can do it during my service.

My question is, what I got something else... e.g. I bought the exhaust finisher from ebay instead of from Nissan. Would they care? does it void my warranty. What if I got a completely different exhaust all together.

I've got 6 years or 100,000km warranty on the car. Plan is to sell it after 3 years. Got a few small extras that I want to add such as roof racks, kick plates, fog lights etc... I rather save money (buying it cheaper) than spend more with Nissan, but at the same time I don't want to void the warranty.

Anyone got experience with this sort of thing?

Re:

None of these add-on accessories will void your warranty even if you buy them after-market (non-genuine Nissan products) as long as they're fitted correctly/professionally and don't impact the structural design of the car and are fitted in accordance to all ADR (Australian Design Rules) requirements and regulations.

Nissan Australia will not void your warranty for buying and fitting accessories. They would only start to question them of any of these accessories directly attributed to a fault with the car and they'd have to prove that your accessory was the cause.

The accessories you have in mind are very minor additions, you should check the members rides section to see what some of us (still under Nissan warranty) have done emoticon

I've got a couple of ideas, but just want to make sure it's okay to do them and of course if its worth doing. Thanks!
