Re:
have found that its a lots better to make your own tracks than to drive the ruts made by others , yes u have to drive it a little bit harder to get through the sand but at least your not trying to drive with the belly grounded all the time ......

Re:
My tyres went down to 10psi while on soft sand. Not a drama. Could go down to 8psi if desperate.

Re:
I would not recommend running 10 psi or less in you tyres as you run the risk of the tyre roiling off the rim.
Your not going to get any further with 10psi in your tyres than with 15psi.

Re: Bribie Island – 2nd frustrated attempt
I have to agree with Tony there. I wouldn't go below 12psi. The risk of rolling the tyre of the rim is high enough at 12psi if you turn sharply or stop/accelerate too quickly.

Re:
Thanks for all the replies guys. It's been a great experience to participate on this forum. We can really learn a lot!
I reckon the car is ok to be driven on sand, but not really soft sand, which is not good for me as I want to go in Fraser Island, Rainbow Beach, Straddie and other beaches on the south east of QLD. Beach sand is ok, but the inland tracks are the real problem.
Getting bogged is considered normal, but when you are on your way to beach, expecting to have a good day out with your family, it can be frustrating. Specially when you have a 2 years old boy in the can who can get badly upset while waiting to be snatched out.
I saw bigger 4WDs driving through the soft sand with the aircon on. That's what I want.
