They mentioned in WA that on the first year of introduction there was a huge amount of people forgetting to register their cars.They also said that WA was thinking of re introducing the stickers. Apparently there will be a website in NSW so you can go online a check to see if a vehicle you may want to drive ,borrow etc is registered.Also revenue raising is being hinted at as people who forget may be fined but as usual they are denying this.

OK, as if I use the windscreen sticker to remind me of the rego renewal date! We will still receive the renewal letter and rego by mail and that's what should trigger people to renew their rego...not a sticker, but as always some people would use any excuse they can find to delay payment or find a silly reason for doing so!

The WA government is pretty set on not reintroducing stickers even if people are willing to pay for them. The Department of Transport website has the car rego check. The original reason was to save a couple million dollars in printing the stickers.
