Re:

Cool, send the link or post the pics. The front of the motor has thick metal (3mm?) crimped in numerous places to hold the end piece on, it would be tricky to straighten these (and then bend back when finished) to enable to pull the motor apart.

Agree a proper bearing shoudl make the motor outlast the car.

Cheers

I really dont remember which website it was ..but here are the pics ...they are in no particular order ...but hopefully you can get the idea. There does appear to be some 'uncrimping' & 'recrimping' to do ..but Im sure that wont be a showstopper ...

I shall take some more pics when I get mine apart .... and hopefully a spec for the new bearing too... which, at the moment I dont have. Actually it would be useful if anyone has the dimensions of the original bushing to hand..so I get one before I strip down...? .... anyone?

Re:

Thanks for the pics.

Ahhh ok, looks like a slightly different setup/housing, perhaps its the T30?

Hes only replaced the front bearing, there is another at the rear. To get that you need to uncrimp the large front metal "cone" to pull the guts out to get to the rear bearing.

I will attach some photos I took of the T31 blower motor.

With the minor oiling I did to ours it is still quiet as a mouse. Quick an easy if you want to try that first.

Cheers

Here are some pics.

Front side view. YOu can see the big crimps if you wanted to remove the front metal cone.

Rear of the motor with hole cut to expose bearing.

After oiling the rear I covered the hole with tape to seal it up again.

I think I understand what he did. Looks like you can remove the small retainer infront of the bearing to remove it, big metal cone can remain in place.

Looking at the pics again, looks like you could do the same with the rear.

yeah..thats what I understood had been done ...since I've not had mine apart yet..the pics dont mean too much to me. In any event if the cone had to be removed those large 2 prong crimps dont look too troublesome..

can someone please guide me through the process of removing the blower from the t31 2010 model so that I can once again live in my vehicle as I travel the huge distances I do to rescue wildlife.

Many thanks
