With so many instances this looks like a design problem and Nissan should cover it even out of warranty. nondisclosed_email@example.com (NomadNomad)Fri, 28 Sep 2012 04:19:48 +0000 Re: Turbo Intake Hose - cost of replacementhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2065786,from=rss#post2065786https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2065786,from=rss#post2065786I had to replace mine at 105,000km. Just out of warranty - dealer wouldn't play ball so had to pay for it myself......130euro in Ireland. Only available as a genuine Nissan part. I searched everywhere for aftermarket but not available. Original was a black cloth reinforced pipe, but the replacement is grey, much thicker wall AND reinforced with a coiled steel wire from end to end - obviously Nissan were aware of issues with the original part! Very simple to fit just a single jubilee clip at either end. "Pulsing" of pressure in the hose can also cause hoses to split. The high price might also be because the hose has to be a pressure tested one. Does this intake hose run under any sort of pressure?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Exywarrior)Tue, 20 Dec 2011 11:02:01 +0000 Re: Turbo Intake Hose - cost of replacementhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2059019,from=rss#post2059019https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2059019,from=rss#post2059019I find it interesting the hose has split. The dealer did enquire whether the car was still in warranty, so I can assume that it would be covered under warranty.nondisclosed_email@example.com (aussieambo)Mon, 12 Dec 2011 22:47:20 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2058897,from=rss#post2058897https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2058897,from=rss#post2058897Just out of curiousity, is your car just out of warranty, or does Nissan refuse to cover it under warranty conditions? I currently have extended warranty on mine, and if this is an item they don't cover, I'm almost convinced that I will cancel the extended warranty.nondisclosed_email@example.com (ExyCol)Mon, 12 Dec 2011 17:55:22 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2058849,from=rss#post2058849https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2058849,from=rss#post2058849If you can get the Nissan part number, you will be able to look for alternatives.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Sat, 10 Dec 2011 06:36:47 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2058844,from=rss#post2058844https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2058844,from=rss#post2058844Hi Graem, Thats a lot of money for a hose to be replaced. Turbo hoses do cost a little more but not that much. The trick is to source one with all the kinks in the right places from an auto shop. It might be a Nissan genuine part only and that is why the high cost.nondisclosed_email@example.com (cooch t31)Sat, 10 Dec 2011 05:37:31 +0000 Turbo Intake Hose - cost of replacementhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2058835,from=rss#post2058835https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2058835,from=rss#post2058835Hello All, I have had a quick look on the forum regarding the turbo intake hose. I had the X-Trail in to the dealer today for a 50,000 k service and was advised that the turbo intake hose has a small split in it and it would require replacing. Now I am more use to fixing people than cars and am not really sure where this hose is, I had a bit of a look after reading some posts on the forum. Now if I am looking at the right hose, it doesn't seem all that big or difficult to fit, but I was quoted $314 for a new one. Does this seem a little expensive or is this about par. Thanks Cheers Graemnondisclosed_email@example.com (aussieambo)Fri, 09 Dec 2011 19:13:12 +0000
