Re: T31 Diesel Oil filter?

I have been servicing MR9 myself since 50k and no issue with oil filter housing. Sounds like it has been done up too tight. I always use plenty of oil on oring, inside edge of filter and thread area. Little tightening required after fully screwed in place. Oring does the work as a side seal, not compression from being super tight.
Got 180k on it now and still going strong.
There are also aftermarketple engine to do oil change on IMO, I do every 8k, clean oil, cleaner engine.

Re:

Couple of suggestions
  drain sump then remove filter
Buy a large oil catch tray with funnel built in, Supercheap do a good one
refill with a small funnel so you don't fill to quick. Small tube to engine

Re: T31 Diesel Oil filter?

My Nissan FAST CDROM parts catalog only goes up to 2005, so I can't lookup the part number. But I also know that certain consumables, Nissan uses a "Pit-Stop" number, not the part number from the fische. If someone can give me a number for the housing, I can ask Garry at Nizzbits what his price is. I find him usually 20-30% less than Nissan dealer pricing.

Re: T31 Diesel Oil filter?

Hi. Just getting ready to do an oil and filter change on my T31 diesel. I've located the oil filter housing. What tool do I need to unscrew the plastic housing?

It is detailed on the 1st page of this thread. You need a 27mm socket.
