Extra power outlets in arm rest T30 TI

Firstly remove the whole centre console 2 screws at the back move front seats all the way forward to get excess. Then lift cover up around the A/T lever LIFT from the hand brake side (pic 2)under this are 2 more screws remove them now pull the console back and up (tricky with the handbrake to get it around)

Once out remove slide from console this is kept in with a tab where the top slides over
when the slide is out pull out two round clips from upper arm rest
Image
remove 4 screws from arm rest (screws are deep)and separate top section, mark the lighter holes from the inside and drill to suit the lighters (i drilled from the back so i wouldnt tear the material on the out side)once drilled cut the material with a stanley knife dont cut it out just cut a cross in to the material this will ensure a neat and tight fit of the material around the lighters.
fit lighters and wire up together as one
Image
on bottom side cut out some clearance for the cable to come through (i used twin core double insulated)Image
fit two sections together and check that the cable isnt crushed if ok refit 4 screws.
now get the cover (see pic)and drill a clearance hole and elongate for the cable
Image
now the slide part must be drilled and elongated and cable fed through also the back/bottom cover needs to be slotted.

once that is done start refitting the back cover to the slide section and push plugs back into the sides
Now the bottom section of the console drill a hole through the top inline with the top section cable exit.Remove plastic webbing and drill through the bottom, pull cable through the top hole this part is important in order for your arm rest to work you must fit a spring to the cable with a washer on either end and tied off with a cable tie (tight)this is so the arm rest can lift and slide without damage to the cable. The spring was just something i found in my shed any spring will do but it cant be much shorter than i used you can get some what of a measurement from the pic and compare it to your console.
Image
next 2 pics will show the range of the spring needed
Image
Image
now feed the cable through and refit console
Image
once you are through the under side leave a bit of cable slack for movement in the back
Image
I connected the cable to the existing lighter socket next to the ashtray i wasnt to worried about the load on there cause i dont use it.
I hope this was clear enough for everybody to understand if you need any help or clarification notify me and ill edit the post or explain it a bit better.
Good luck

Re:

Hi Ray,

None of your images are working correctly.

Please make sure you update the setting of your PhotoBucket account as step 6 is detailed HERE.

Am afraid I won't be able to edit the photos for you all the time.
